Crow Wing County Economic Assistance Grant Program

The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners approved its third Economic Assistance Grant Relief program to distribute more than 1.2 million of state funding to help small businesses and nonprofits that have suffered financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The board made the unanimous decision at its Dec 15 meeting, one day after the Minnesota legislature passed a 217 million COVID-19 relief package.

Grants up to $10,000 will be awarded to nonprofit and small businesses to help offset business interruptions costs associated with COVID-19 from March 1, 2020 through January 12, 2021.

Eligibility:

  • Businesses and/or nonprofits that were NOT ordered closed by Executive Order of the Governor, but also can demonstrate significant COVID related business disruption.
  • Businesses and/or nonprofits that WERE ordered closed by Executive Order of the Governor, but also can demonstrate additional significant COVID related business disruption.
  • Must have 50 or fewer employees
  • Must have a physical location in Crow Wing County
  • Must be registered with the Secretary of State and have been operating since 3/1/2020
  • Documentation must be supplied to verify expenses and may not be duplicated expenses already reimbursed through the previous Crow Wing County CARES Act Grant Rounds 1 or 2.

Ineligibility:

  • Professional service organizations, such as, but not limited to accountants and attorneys
  • Organizations who provide housing in any form
  • Organization that generates income from gambling

Application Requirements

  • The application and documentation must be completed in its entirety by the applicant and submitted via the APPLY HERE button below by no later than January 12, 2021, in order to be considered. You will be asked to log into your Gmail account to fill out the application.  If you do not have a Gmail account, you will be prompted to create one.
  • Documentation due at time of application submittal includes:
    • For Businesses –
      • Completed W-9 Form
      • Expense Report Form
    • For Non-Profits – 
      • IRS 501c3 Determination Letter
      • Completed ST3 Form
      • Expense Report Form
  • You will be asked to upload the required documents within the online application.  For ease of processing, please make sure to label your required documents with your business name and the document type. (ex. ABC Restaurant W9, ABC Salon Expense Report)

 

The application deadline is 11:59 pm January 12, 2021.
