Position is located in Brainerd, MN. No remote work is available.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Specialist works directly and indirectly with production, suppliers and customers to aid in, clarify, and ensure quality requirements are met on all incoming materials and components to outbound production parts. Additionally, the Specialist will provide feedback on customer designs, review and disposition non-conforming goods, initiate and guide the corrective action process, and participate in ISO activities at the company.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide guidance on quality questions/concerns

· Promote a positive and productive working environment

· Manage and maintain QA laboratory

· Assess and provide corrective action to non-compliant parts

· Develop and support continuous improvement initiatives

· APQP process/Print Review

· Supplier Corrective Action Requests, issue and follow

· Internal Corrective Action Requests, issue and follow

· RMO/ RMA entry and related communication

· Maintain Quality Tracking Systems (PPM reports, RMA/SCAR status,

Qualification status, by Vendor, Customer, Overall)

· FARO arm- primary function

· PPAP

· First part and Final inspection/approval

· Floor Inspections

· Calibration Maintenance

· Receiving inspections (set up and perform)

· Scrap disposition and recording/reporting

· Potential ISO Auditor

· Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in quality system audits
  • Willingness to travel when necessary
  • Excellent customer/vendor relations skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, IQMS and other software programs as needed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of and ability to read blueprints
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Proficient with utilizing basic inspection tools
  • Organizational skills, self-motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Associate Degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

· 3+ years of experience in Quality preferred

· Print reading
